BC Golfers Have Solid Day At Lakeview Invite

The Boone Central golf team enjoyed one of its best days of the season to date in the Lakeview Invitational held Thursday, April 28, at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
The Cardinals finished with a 385 team total and placed eighth, in approximately the middle of the 14-team field. Junior Kade Leetch had a strong performance to lead Boone Central, placing fifth in the individual medalist standings.
The Norfolk High JV won the tournament with a 353 team score, five strokes in front of Elkhorn South (358). Brady Vancura of Scotus won a tiebreaker against Schuyler’s Clint Kracl for medalist honors after both golfers recorded 18-hole scores of 80.
Leetch went out in 39 on the front nine and finished with a 46 over the back side for an overall 85. Senior Trey Sorell provided support with a solid 48/45-93. Rounding out Cardinal team scoring (top four comprise total score) were sophomore Hunter Henry (50/53-103), junior Sean Soll (51/53-104) and freshman Jackson Meyer (61/56-117).
