Storm blows away grain bin

Crumpled grain bin.Nebraska’s spring storm season has returned. Strong winds from a thunderstorm last Friday night, April 29, destroyed a grain bin near the intersection of 225th Avenue and 280th Street, southwest of Albion.

The empty bin, located on land now owned by Steve Weeder of St. Edward, was crumpled and scattered across a 300-yard area. Two trees were also blown over in the same area. National Weather Service estimated wind speeds at 55 to 60 miles per hour.
