After its scheduled opening night was washed out by a rainstorm one week earlier, the Boone County Raceway in Albion began the 2011 season with a full card of action Friday, May 6.
Neligh’s Jason Wilkinson, the defending BCR Hobby Stock champion, picked up where he left off in 2010, scoring feature victories in the Hobby Stock and Stock Car classes. He was joined in the feature race winner’s circle by Kyle Prauner of Norfolk (B Mods), Jared Hoefelman of Columbus (Modified) and Norfolk’s James Kelley (Late Model).
Racing will continue Friday at the BCR, beginning at 8 p.m. The May 13 card will include the first 2011 appearance of the Hornets class as well as competition in the track’s five regular classes.
