Boone County Health Center presented its annual “Caring Kind” and Department of the Year awards on Monday, May 9, at the hospital.
LeaAnn Wells, RN and supervisor of the hospital’s Home Health Department, is the 2011 Caring Kind Employee.
She is a native of Albion and a 1972 graduate of Albion High School. She has a longtime connection to BCHC. Her mother, Marjorie Barnhard, was a nurse’s aide there for many years, and LeaAnn worked there as a teen-ager.
The hospital’s Dietary Department was also honored Monday as Department of the Year, and 26 hospital staff members were recognized for their years of service.
