School Board appoints Mark Niewohner

At the end of a three-hour meeting Monday night, the Boone Central School Board appointed Mark Niewohner of Albion to fill a vacancy on the board.

Niewohner was one of four candidates who had applied to fill a remaining 1 1/2-year term after board member Roger Rozeboom resigned last month. The board term will continue through December of 2012.

Other candidates interviewed by the board during the special meeting were Trish Daniels, Alvin Meyer and Rob Miller.

Board members said the decision was difficult, and they were pleased to have so many good candidates step forward.
