Point Races Tightening At Boone County Raceway

Randy Hooker - LM A Feature winnerThe racing’s heating up with the weather and the squeeze is on point leaders in several of the classes at the Boone County Raceway in Albion.
Albion’s Jacob Anson won the IMCA Modified A Feature Friday, pulling within a single point of class leader Jared Hoefelman of Columbus in the tightest of point battles. Troy Bergman of Columbus boosted his lead in the Stock Car division to three points over Neligh’s Jason Wilkinson after those drivers ran 2-3 behind Ron Pettit of Norfolk in Friday’s feature race.
Wilkinson leads the Hobby Stock class by six points after a runner-up A Feature finish this week. Norfolk’s Kyle Prauner remained perfect (5-for-5) in BCR B Mod features, but leads persistent Nelson Vollbrecht of Stanton by just six points.
Albion’s Mark Lueken placed sixth in the Late Model feature Friday, but still enjoys the largest class cushion (11 points) heading into the 4th of July weekend.
