Championship Night Next At BCR

Friday, drivers will line up at the Boone County Raceway with 2011 season point titles on the line with the annual Championship Night racing card.
Several classes feature razor-close battles for the top spot after action Friday, August 12, at the Albion fairgrounds facility.
Local favorite Mark Lueken captured Friday’s Late Model ‘A’ Feature victory and pulled within a single point of class leader Tad Pospisil, setting up what promises to be a premiere duel this week.
Jared Hoefelman of Columbus was also victorious in the Modified ‘A’ event August 12, bumping his season lead to four points over Albion’s Jacob Anson. In another tight season race, Troy Bergman of Columbus finished one position in front of Albion’s Dave Langan in feature racing, pushing his advantage over the local driver to four points in the Stock Car division.
Drivers in the other BCR classes have a bit more breathing room entering Friday’s championship events.
Norfolk’s Kyle Prauner was back in the winner’s circle this past week and holds a 15-point lead in B Mod racing. In the Hobby Stock division, Dusty Poessnecker of Atkinson enjoys an eight-point cushion after a runner-up feature finish August 12.
The Holt County Sprints and Hornets both return Friday to conclude their abbreviated BCR seasons. Gary Reber of Gregory, SD (Sprints) and Grand Island’s Justice Colson have eight-point leads in their respective classes.
BCR Championship Night racing, with competition in seven classes, begins at 8 p.m. Friday.
