Area crops continued to advance toward maturity during the past week.
Harvest of corn silage and some high moisture corn were underway in the Boone County area. The USDA National Ag Statistics Service, Nebraska Field Office, estimated that 90 percent of the state’s corn crop was in the dent stage or beyond, and about 39 percent of the soybean crop was turning color.
