A realistic learning experience was part of the school day at Boone Central High School last Friday, Sept. 30.
That morning, students watched as fellow classmates were extricated from two cars that had been in an apparent accident on Fifth Street just outside the school.
Although make-up was used on the participating students to make their injuries seem as realistic as possible, it wasn’t real. No one had been harmed.
The simulation was arranged as a learning experience — a way to put a realistic image on potential outcomes that face students every day, and to illustrate the need for responsible driving.
