BC Volleyers Preparing For Season Stretch Run

It’s been an arduous season for a young Boone Central volleyball team still searching for its first varsity victory.
First-year Coach Susan Roberts says her team is pushing forward, however, and preparing for the final stretch of the campaign.
Boone Central (0-16) traveled to Pierce Tuesday, Oct. 4, for triangular action, dropping matches to the host Bluejays (12-25, 14-25) and Wayne Blue Devils (12-25, 14-25).
“The varsity did not fair well at Pierce,” Roberts commented. “We struggled in various phases of the game, especially serve receive, which means we couldn’t run our offense consistently.
“We have had a few days to regroup and focus on our final week of the regular season. We are looking forward to making a strong push as we near post-season competition.”

Boone Central also had two matches the previous week.
The Cardinals traveled to Ord Sept. 27 and lost a 12-25, 12-25, 17-25 decision to the Chants.

Host Battle Creek defeated Boone Central 3-1 in a dual match Sept. 29.
