Final accounting told for courthouse remodel

Boone County Commissioners received final settlement documents Monday on the courthouse remodeling project.

The county spent a total of $1,227,658 on the courthouse renovation with general contractor Beckenhauer Construction of Norfolk.

The final total was about $28,500 more than the contractor’s original estimate of $1,199,155, mostly due to change orders and additional components. A final change order for installation of supplemental heat and cooling in the central computer room, was approved several months ago.

Commissioners approved the final payment of $28,358 to Beckenhauer Construction on Monday.
