Boone County Area Foundation Fund (BCAFF) Advisory Committee approved more than $14,500 in grants to 19 area organizations and agencies during its recent November meeting.
The grant requests were reviewed by the Fund Advisory Committee (FAC) after a Grant Making Committee had met earlier to read through each of the 19 requests and made recommendations to the FAC.
During this grant period, requests for more than $69,000 in grants were received. Each year, the committee reviews the foundation’s available funds, considers other funding that might be available for projects and decides which requests to grant. Since the Boone County Area Foundation Fund is still growing, limited funds are available to grant each year. The FAC has set a goal of reaching $3 million for the endowment in three years. When that happens, it will be able to grant requests exceeding $100,000.
