BC Bowling Club Splits With Flyers

Justin RasmussenThe Boone Central Bowling Club’s girls team blasted Humphrey St. Francis and the Flyer boys, undefeated in Northeast Conference competition, nipped the host Cardinals in matches Saturday at Fairview Lanes in Albion.
The Boone Central girls had no trouble with the visitors, scoring an overall 18-1 match victory.
The Cardinals took a 6-1 lead in Game 1, with Mariah Patzel (157), Saki Masuno (112) and Shelby Schafer (88) winning individual game points and BC taking 3 team pin fall and game points (469-411).
BC swept all 7 points in Game 2 behind Jessica Tisthammer (142), Masuno (132), Schafer (113) and Patzel (96). Team pinfalls were 483-397. The hosts also swept the 5 points in the Baker Game (121-115, 116-90, 237-205 total).
The contest between 5-0 St. Francis and 4-2 Boone Central in boys competition was as close as the season records.
St. Francis got the edge in the opening games. The Flyers took a 10-4 lead with identical 5-2 edges in Game 1 and Game 2. Justin Rasmussen (137, 133) and Lane Cornwell (149, 147) won individual points in both games for Boone Central.
The Cardinals swept the points in the Baker Game (157-100, 198-110, 355-210 total), leaving them a single point shy of the visitors.
