Lady Cardinal girls track & field teams have been one of Boone Central’s most successful programs in recent years. The quest for 2012? Keep the momentum rolling.
Boone Central won a third straight Mid-State Conference championship in 2011 and finished second in the B4 District. With some key letterwinners and state meet qualifiers returning, the Cards have a good chance to take wing again this spring.
“With the numbers of athletes we have out and the state qualifiers returning, we are very excited about this season,” commented Boone Central Coach Kris Pestel. “We have a very solid core back with experience, who are great leaders, but we will also need to develop our younger athletes quickly to help solidify all areas of our team.
“The Mid-State is a great athletic conference and our district includes some of the best teams in Class B, so we will have to perform at our best to be in the running with that competition.”
Boone Central will build its 2012 team around returning senior letterwinners Kattie Cleveland, Maria Glidden, Erin Grundmayer, Jaime Kennedy, Jenna Lehmann and Breann Thorberg, junior letterwinners Aleana Hager, Terri Molt and Cassidy Pribnow, and sophomore letterwinners Brooke Anderson, Anna Goodwater, Jade Gottier, Liz Ketteler, Miranda Ketteler and Nancy Moncada.
