BC Golfers 7th In Mid-State

The Boone Central Cardinals finished in seventh place in the annual Mid-State Conference Golf Championships held Saturday at Fairplay Golf Course in Norfolk.
Hartington Cedar Catholic captured the team title with ease, matching the conference record with a 316 18-hole score. O’Neill (340) placed second and host Norfolk Catholic (354) third.
Among individual golfers, Boone Central senior Kade Leetch placed 12th after finishing in a four-way tie at 87. Leetch was the only Cardinal under 90 in the competition.
Four golfers fired rounds of 78 at Fairplay, with Dalton Lammers of Cedar Catholic winning individual medalist honors in a tiebreaker. Other golfers shooting 78 were Dalton Jackson and Luke Loecker of O’Neill and Cedar Catholic’s Eric Kruse. Kyle Klug of Cedar Catholic was right behind with a 79 and Trojan Seth Howell also placed in the top ten, shooting 81.
Joining Leetch in compiling Boone Central’s 378 team total were Hunter Henry (96), Brett Temme (97) and Chris Ketteler (98). Jackson Meyer led the Cardinal JV with a score of 94. The Boone Central JV was 13th overall and fifth among JV teams.
