Heavy weather hit the Boone County area last week, with thunderstorms and a tornado striking northern Platte County Thursday evening, May 24.
Heavy thunderstorms hit again Sunday night, May 27, with hail damage and overturned center pivots reported at various locations in Boone County and surrounding area.
A tornado swooped out of a thunderstorm Thursday night and destroyed the hilltop home of Bryan and Jenny Herchenbach about five miles west and one mile north of Lindsay.
Sunday evening again brought heavy storms, funnel cloud sitings at various locations, heavy rains, hail and flash flood warnings.
