Card softball team improves to 6-5

The Boone Central softball team improved its season record to 6-5 with another successful week, splitting games at the Madison Triangular Tuesday, Sept. 4, before winning two of three contests in Saturday’s Lakeview Invitational at Columbus.

O’Neill 7, Cardinals 4
Boone Central got off to a slow start against a solid O’Neill team at Madison and could not overcome the early deficit, dropping a 7-4 decision to the Eagles.
Cardinals 12, Madison 0
In Tuesday’s other contest, Boone Central had no trouble dispatching host Madison 12-0 in three innings.
“I saw good things in this game we hope to carry into the weekend tournament,” said Olson.
York 10, Cardinals 0
It was another sluggish start for Boone Central in the Lakeview Invite as York thumped the Cards 10-0 in morning action.
Cardinals 21, Madison 4
BC had little trouble finding offense in a rematch with Madison, blasting the Dragons 21-4 in four innings.
The Cardinals scored 14 runs in the first two frames and banged out 21 hits overall.
Cardinals 15, Duchesne 3
Boone Central wrapped up a solid day with a 15-3 victory over Omaha Duchesne in five innings.
“While we had a slow start in the morning, the girls proved their ability to bounce back and refocus with two very convincing wins,” Olson praised. “Excellent determination and drive at the plate!”
