Harvest time in Boone County

Corn and soybean harvest was well underway in Boone County this week, and was nearing 25 percent complete statewide.
As expected with the past summer’s drought, dryland yields are much lower than usual. Irrigated yields are also running somewhat below normal in many locations.
Small amounts of rainfall last week reduced fire danger but did little to improve soil moisture.
