County passes office consolidation measure

By nearly a four to one margin in the general election, Boone County voters approved a measure to consolidate the Clerk of the District Court office with the County Clerk’s office. The consolidation will take place in January of 2015.
Republican candidates were big winners in Boone County, with wide voter margins favoring Romney-Ryan in the presidential campaign, Deb Fischer in the U.S. Senate campaign and Adrian Smith in the Third District U.S. Congress race.
The county had a 73 percent voter turnout.
