Trisha Griffith, a longtime resident of the Petersburg area, became the new owner of the Knotty Pine on Monday, Nov. 19.
She purchased the business from Cherylle Arends, who had owned it with her husband, Butch, since 2008.
Trisha said she plans to continue the bar and restaurant operation much the same as in the past.
The Knotty Pine dates back to 1936, when Delbert and Nora Henn purchased a small cafe building in Elgin and moved it to Petersburg. Because of its small size, it became known as “the Hut.”
Details in the Nov. 28 Petersburg Press Print & Electronic Editions.
