About 90 children ride ‘Polar Express

Due to last week’s storm, the Boone Central ‘Polar Express” ran one day later than planned on Friday evening, Dec. 21. Even with the postponement, about 90 area children took part. The bus made four trips with Adolph Liss reading the ‘Polar Express’ story. The children visited Santa Claus and enjoyed hot chocolate and other treats.
Boone Central PTO sponsored the event as a reward to students for their fundraising efforts throughout the year. During the past 18 months, the PTO has raised enough money to purchase 12 iPads and place one in each elementary classroom.
