The Boone Central Bowling Club qualified for state competition by placing second in the C-2 District Saturday in Norfolk and Card Justin Rasmussen placed second individually among district bowlers.
Boone Central was one of four teams competing in the C-2 event at Kings Lanes, with the top two teams qualifying for the state tournament.
North Bend Central won the C-2 championship with a total series of 2,789. Boone Central totaled 2,520 pins to take second place. Bennington was third with 2,342 and Norfolk Catholic fourth with 2,520.
Teams rolled three games and five ‘bakers’ to determine their total pin counts. Boone Central opened with a 603 game and followed up with games of 600 and 663. Their ‘baker’ total was 654.
Rasmussen rolled a 576 series for individual runner-up honors, with high games of 243 and 203.
Other team members competing for the Cardinals Saturday were Nathan Hemmer, Robbie Johnson, Kaleb Kelley, Bryce Kelley and Lane Cornwell.
