Hedlund wins County Spelling Contest

Tessa Hedlund, eighth grader at St. Michael’s School in Albion, won first place in the annual Boone County Spelling Bee held last Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the band room of Boone Central Public School.
This year’s county contest featured 38 participants representing Boone Central Elementary, Boone Central Middle School, St. Michael’s School, Cedar Rapids Public School and St. Edward Public School. Cheryl Kuehner and Connie Sugden served as officials for the contest.
