Jose Gonzales traveled a long distance from his childhood years in a Venezuelan oil compound to arriving in Albion, Nebraska, about three years ago.
He recently wrote and self-published a book about his childhood years called My Memories in Oritupano, which is now available at the Albion Public Library.
The book was originally written in Spanish for the Venezuelan market, but later translated to English. It contains many happy memories and a few sad ones from “a small but beautiful oil camp,” he writes.
Jose, who holds a masters degree in administration, recently obtained his “green card” and is seeking employment in the Boone County area.
Details in the March 6 Albion News Print & Electronic Editions.
