Village Board talks insurance for sewer plant

Petersburg Village Board dealt with insurance needs at the sewer plant during its meeting on Tuesday, March 5.
Village Supervisor Doug Koch spoke with electrician Doug Wright to get an estimate on the cost of replacing the sewer plant if a tornado hit. Replacement cost could be $90,000-$95,000 if the plant is totally demolished.
Brian Josten, Cedar Valley Insurance agent, said he felt the board could get a depreciated policy for $240 annually for replacement. The electrical equipment is the major concern. Josten stated, “We’re insuring it as a plant. Anything over $1,000 would be depreciated first.”
