Invenergy Corp. announced this week it plans to begin construction of the Prairie Breeze Wind Energy project in Antelope and Boone counties.
Access road construction and turbine site location prep are planned for April. Also, any needed road improvements in the area will begin soon.
The planned construction sequence will be from the eastern side of the project, moving west. Turbine component delivery is expected this summer, with tower erection to follow. A local Invenergy operations and maintenance building will also be constructed later this year.
Construction personnel from Blattner Energy are on-site, with approximately 100 workers already involved on the project. During peak construction time, total construction personnel will likely involve up to 300 individuals, the company said.
