Doris J. Esau, 96, formerly of Petersburg, NE, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, NE. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Albion with Reverends Ray and Mary Avidano officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Gragert) Hawthorne, 87, of Albion, NE, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion with Fr. Stan Schmit officiating. Interment followed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery at Petersburg. Levander Funeral Home in Albion were in charge of arrangements. Glen L. Bowker, 85, of Neligh, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh, NE. Memorial service for Glen was held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at the United Congregational Church of Christ in Neligh with Pastor Janet Davis officiating. Inurnment was at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. Military Rites by Neligh American Legion Post 172 and VFW. There was no visitation. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home was handling the arrangements.

Kenneth J. Borer, 66, of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away Aug. 14, 2013 at his home. It was Kenneth’s wish to be cremated with no services.
