Lady Card golfers win at Pierce

With the individual champion and three medalists, the Boone Central Lady Cardinals swung their way to a 10-stroke victory in the Pierce Invitational golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 14.
Melissa Kyncl led the way for Boone Central, winning medalist honors with an 88. Teammate Faith Leetch placed third with a 93 and Jessica Tisthammer was 13th with a 102.
The Cardinals’ team total of 394 gave them a comfortable cushion over runner-up O’Neill (404). Battle Creek took third at 415.

Kyncl was the only player in the tournament to break 90, finishing with a 42 after an opening nine-hole round of 46. Leetch had BC’s best first round (45) and finished with a 48. Tisthammer (52/50-102) and Kyley Sorell (59/51-111) also improved on their second nine holes.
Boone Central was runner-up last Thursday in the Scotus Invitational at Columbus’ Quail Run. The Cards posted a team score of 398, trailing champ Scotus (375) and finishing six strokes in front of Wayne (404).
Kyncl had another strong tournament, placing fourth with an 18-hole round of 92. Leetch was also a medalist, finishing with a 98. Sorell just missed a medal, tieing for 15th at 101, but placing 16th following a playoff. Tisthammer rounded out Boone Central’s team total with a 107.
