On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Nebraska Public Power District President and Chief Executive Officer Pat Pope gave the utility’s board of eirectors good news regarding the district’s financial status going into 2014.
“NPPD will not need the two percent rate increase we have been proposing for both our wholesale and retail customers next year,” said Pope. “We will not be proposing any rate increase for any of our customers in 2014.”
Earlier this year, had alerted its wholesale and retail customers to an anticipated 3.5 perrcent rate increase, which was reduced to two percent before the 2013 summer revenues were factored in.
