At a special meeting in Spalding last Tuesday night, Sept. 24, the Spalding Public School Board voted to proceed with a petition for merger with Cedar Rapids Public School.
Spalding Superintendent Stephanie Kaczor said the vote was taken after a thorough discussion and input from patrons.
This action means that both school boards have now stated their intent to proceed with the merger petition, and details can be worked out.
