C1 #1 BC/NG tames Dragons

Wyatt MazourCall it what you will. Mis-match. Mish-mash. This one was all Cardinals.
Outmanned host Madison had no answers for Class C1 #1 Boone Central/Newman Grove Friday in a contest that saw the Cardinals bolt to a 42-0 halftime lead and post the victory by that same score.

“We were pleased with the fact we were able to get on top in this one qucikly,” stated BC/NG Coach Arnie Johnson. “Our defense and special teams were able to give our offense some easy scoring opportunities.
“It was nice to get a lot of our underclassmen into the game.”
Other than several unfortunate injuries, Boone Central/Newman Grove enjoyed pretty much everything about this game. And dominated in all phases.
BC/NG totaled 307 yards – 167 rushing, 140 passing – and held Madison to a paltry 73. The Cardinals enjoyed a 15-5 advantage in first downs and a 5-1 edge in turnovers, intercepting four Dragon aerial attempts. Special teams were also potent, with Wyatt Mazour scoring on a punt return.
