Lady Cards win two before holiday

The Boone Central/Newman Grove Lady Cardinals boosted their season record to 5-2 with a pair of final pre-holiday victories this past week.
Boone Central/Newman Grove traveled to Genoa Tuesday, Dec. 17, and edged the host Twin River Titans 42-38.

The Lady Cards played stout defense for three quarters, holding the Huskies to single digits in each stanza and taking a 37-23 lead before West Holt threatened, exploding for 22 points in the final period.
Gottier amassed her point total by sinking five 2-point field goals, three 3-point baskets and going 8-of-8 at the free throw line.
