Community Club discusses Visitor Promotion changes

Petersburg Community Club held a discussion of changes in the Boone County Visitor Promotion program during its meeting Monday evening, Jan. 5, at Knotty Pine.
County Clerk Kathy Thorberg explained the grant program.
The amount of money given to any one organization will be set at a limit of $1,600 with a $400 limit per event. She noted the funding comes from Boone County lodging tax which includes camper hookups and motels.
To receive funding, an organization must provide information on how the money was used and the benefit. A photo must accompany the event summary.
The forms must be picked up at the Boone County Clerk’s office at the courthouse. This change is due to the Boone County Development Agency reorganization and that office will not be handling the visitor promotions.
