Two purchases related to the newly renovated football field and track complex were approved by the Boone Central Board of Education Monday night, Feb. 10.
A bid of $30,661 was accepted from Aschoff Construction to build a 24 x 60 foot equipment storage building in the northwest corner of the football field and track complex. The building will include two overhead doors. The bid did not include concrete.
The board also approved the purchase of an electronic timing system that had been proposed during the January meeting by Dustin Nielsen, activities director. The complete Finish Lynx timing system from Black Squirrel Timing will cost $21,450. However, only half the cost, or $10,726, will be paid by the school district.
Boone Central Booster Club has committed to pay for half of the new timing system.
