Excavation began April 21 for a new 750,000 bushel grain storage bin at the Central Valley Ag Elevator in Petersburg.
The new bin will double capacity to 1.5 million bushels. Additional facilities will include a 20,000 bushel-per-hour leg and a 3,500 bushel overhead load-out bin, according to Stan Kallhoff of the CVA Grain Division.
J & D Construction of Minnesota is the contractor, and target date for completion is Sept. 10, 2014, weather permitting.
