City sales tax receipts set record for April

Albion city sales tax receipts set a new record in April 2014 at $57,135.
It was the highest April total since the city began collecting sales and use tax in 1998.
The April 2014 total was $10,531 higher than April of the previous year for an increase of 22.5 percent. It was also nearly $7,000 above the March 2014 receipts of $50,345.
Albion’s city sales tax receipts have marked double digit increases over the previous year in eight of the first 10 months of the 2013-14 fiscal year, and the 10-month total now stands at $528,750.
