At least two Boone County villages are short of candidates for the 2014 general election, and the deadline for new candidates to file is this Friday, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m.
At Petersburg, three village board seats are to be decided in the November election. Tina Henn was the only incumbent board member to file for re-election, which leaves two seats open for new candidates. No new candidates had filed as of Monday afternoon.
Primrose will also fill three village board seats this year, and the only incumbent to file was Robert L. Thompson. Again, there are two other seats to be filled, and no new candidates had filed as of Monday afternoon.
