County property valuation tops $1.9 billion

Graph shows increase in Boone County's total property valuation.Boone County’s total property valuation has increased by more than 24 percent for the second consecutive year, growing by more than $371 million from last year’s total.
Total county valuation of $1.9 billion was certified last week by Boone County Assessor Joyce Sock, and the increase marked the sixth double digit increase in the past seven years.
Again this year, most of the increase was due to higher agricultural land prices. This has been the case in most of Nebraska’s rural counties. This year, nearly $15.5 million of the Boone County valuation increase was attributable to countywide growth.
