September has been a very cool month so far in the Boone County area, with average highs of just 69.8 degrees and lows averaging 47.8 degrees.
Several area residents reported frost in low areas Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13, when lows dipped to 35 degrees in Albion. Damage to crops was still being assessed early this week.
Rainfall was recorded on eight of the first 16 days of September, with a total accumulation of 1.86 inches.
