The new digital machine, called a GE Senographe Essential, was installed in a new room at the hospital on Aug. 22, and was put into service on Aug. 27.
The new equipment replaced the previous 10-year-old technology at the health center, and a new room was designed to accommodate it.
The new equipment was purchased with a $256,008 grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
