Fundraising events are planned during October for a 16-month-old Albion boy awaiting heart transplant surgery.
Colin Petersen, son of Jon and Stacy Petersen of Albion, was born with a defective heart and has already had several heart surgeries. He is awaiting a heart transplant at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
Donors can provide “Baskets of Hope” and other items to be displayed Oct. 13-17 at the Cardinal Inn Motel and sold duirng a silent auction at the Team Colin fundraiser to be held Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Event Center on the Boone County Fairgrounds. A live auction is also planned that day.
The Oct. 18 event will also include a free will pancake feed starting at 7 a.m., a 5K walk/run event, kids obstacle course and one-mile run. “Team Colin” t-shirts will also be sold.
