Boone Central School District voters turned down a proposed $12.99 million school bond issue by a margin of just 41 votes in the Nov. 4 general election.
An unofficial count Tuesday night showed 754 votes (48.68%) in favor of the school bond proposal and 795 votes (51.32%) against.
Incumbent Democrat Ken Luettel of Petersburg retained his seat on the Boone County Board of Commissioners, defeating Republican challenger Clyde Stuhr of Petersburg by a margin of 454 to 352.
