Looking for reasons why Boone Central/Newman Grove is undefeated on the football field in 2014 and playing in the Class C1 State Championship Game?
Well, at least one reason is good players, certainly.
That was again made evident this past week when 10 Cardinals received first or second team recognition on the Cl-3 All-District teams voted on by district coaches.
Seniors Joe Brugger, Zac Glidden, Travis Kennedy, Michael Lipker and Wyatt Mazour and junior Keaton Henry were all named to the C1-3 All-District 1st Team. Cardinals on the C1-3 All-District 2nd Team were seniors Colton Pelster and Garrett Temme and juniors Scott Ketteler and Jacob Krings.
Three members of the Boone Central/Newman Grove volleyball team received Mid-State All-Conference Honorable Mention in voting by league coaches this past week.
Senior Dana Pelster and juniors Celine Dunlap and Elissa Slizoski received mention for their efforts in leading the 12-18 Cardinals during the 2014 season.
