Chamber, businesses host holiday activities

Kids Pictures with Santa were held Thursday evening, Dec. 4, at Main Street Hardware. Free hot chocolate and cookies were also served at the downtown mini-park, and a chili and soup supper was held at the Veterans Club.
On Friday evening, Dec. 5, a Holiday Block Party was hosted by Albion ThriftyWay, Amy’s Flower Basket and Heartland Jewelry.
The chamber sponsored Super Saturday Shopping in the morning on Dec. 6. Volunteers handed out 60 shopping bags filled with coupons, gift certificates, Chamber Bucks and goodies sponsored by local stores. About 75 area children also attended the free movie Saturday morning at Gateway Theatre.
More special events are planned downtown this week, with caroling on Thursday evening, Dec. 11. Caroling will also be held at Good Samaritan Society on Sunday, Dec. 14. ‘Elfing’ will also continue at local businesses.
