Petersburg Village Park Board has announced an ambitious goal to raise $75,000 for improvements at the downtown park.
The fund drive began with the Boone County Big Give, which brought in a total of $5,302 for the park project before matching funds were added.
Planned improvements would include a much larger shelter than the one currently located in the park and a new playground.
The goal is to raise the needed funds by spring of 2015.
