Boone County has seen a substantial increase in net lodging tax receipts since June of 2014, when the new Cardinal Inn opened in Albion.
County Clerk Kathy Thorberg provided a tabulation of lodging tax receipts for the commissioners at their Dec. 29 meeting.
The county had previously collected an average of $300 to $600 per month, but from June through October of last year, the average jumped to $1,436 per month.
