The Cardinals in the heaviest weight classes led Boone Central/Newman Grove results at the 2015 Gibbon Bill Foster Invite Saturday, as Jacob Krings won gold at 220 pounds and Isaac Sullivan earned runner-up honors at 285.
BC/NG could not keep pace in the team race, finishing eighth in the 13-team field with 88 points. Host Gibbon (194.5) captured the team championship ahead of Mitchell (183).
Boone Central/Newman Grove had four additional medalists in the event. Jesse Osantowski (170) and Joel Meyer (138) placed fifth, while Ty Groth (106) and Trey Schafer (138) were sixth.
Andrew Rasmussen won two matches Saturday and Andy King, Nolan Wondercheck, Sam Stopak and Ryan Thiem all garnered one victory.
