Scott Wright, an eighth grader at Boone Central Middle School, was first place winner in the Boone County Spelling Contest held last Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 28, at Boone Central.
Scott earned the title by correctly spelling “jargon” and “rehearse” in the oral round finals.
Scott, son of Doug and Michele Wright of Petersburg, will represent Boone County in the Midwest Spelling Bee in March at Omaha.
