Twelve golf teams, including three from area schools, competed in the 2015 Boone Central Invitational Tuesday, April 21, at the Albion Country Club.
A talented Ord squad won the event, which had been postponed the previous Saturday by inclement weather. Norfolk Catholic, Humphrey St. Francis, Battle Creek and O’Neill rounded out the top five.
Boone Central/Newman Grove placed 7th, with Spalding Academy 9th and Riverside 12th.
Ord also had the tournament’s gold medal winner in Jaden Barnes, who fired a three-over par 75 on two circuits of the nine-hole layout. Shane Mlinar of Norfolk Catholic and Trevor Kosch of St. Francis both shot 78.
Parker Wallin (91) led BC/NG, placing 17th. Academy’s John Bernt (92, 18th) also finished in the top 20.
Boone Central/Newman Grove’s JV also competed, finishing 11th.
