The Boone Central Cardinals participated in the big, competitive Wayne Invitational boys golf tournament Thursday, May 7, at the Wayne Country Club.
West Holt (329) shaded Blair (335) to win the championship of the 15-team event. Brock Mueller of Crofton (76) won a tiebreaker against Blair’s TJ Loudner (76) for individual gold medalist honors.
Boone Central/Newman Grove finished in 12th place with a 389 team total. Parker Wallin (45/47-92) led the Cardinals, finishing in a tie for 24th among 77 competitors.
Other BC/NG golfers contributing to the team score were Joel Meyer (46/48-94), Nathan Gottier (46/53-99) and Blake Olnes (52/52-104). Also competing for the Cards was Lane Cornwell (53/60-113).
